I never understood studios buying Yamaha NS-10's, I don't care for them. IMHO anyone only using near field monitors alone to mix any kind of music is out to lunch. Today with sound being reproduced with such a wide variety of equipment, why would anybody limit what they hear by only using NS-10's. One of my pet peaves is; small studios and home studios not using deceant far field monitors. They can't get it right. When played back on a decent system, their sound is never "right". Almost always the high and low ends are either pumped way up or none existant.
